Welcome to Clipper® ("Clipper," "we," "us," or "our"). By booking our services or using our website at memoryclipper.com, you agree to the following Terms of Use. Please read them carefully before placing an order.
1. The Service
Clipper provides a camera rental and video editing service. We ship a Super 8-style digital camera to your address, you film your event, return the camera to us, and our team edits and delivers three vertical video reels within 7 days of receiving the returned camera.
2. Camera Return Policy
You must return the camera within 3 days of your event. The return shipping label is included in your package — simply drop it off at any carrier location. Failure to return the camera within 3 days of your event may result in additional fees or forfeiture of your editing services.
If the camera is not returned within 7 days of your event and no communication has been made, Clipper reserves the right to charge the card on file for the full replacement cost of the camera.
3. Camera Condition & Damage Policy
The camera must be returned in the same working condition in which it was received. You are responsible for the camera while it is in your possession.
- Normal wear from standard use is expected and acceptable.
- Any damage that impairs the camera's functionality — including cracked lenses, water damage, broken buttons, or physical damage to the body — will result in a $200 damage fee charged to the card on file.
- If the camera is returned in a condition deemed unrepairable by Clipper, you may be charged up to the full replacement value of the unit.
By accepting delivery of the camera, you acknowledge and accept responsibility for its care and safe return.
4. Lost or Stolen Camera
If the camera is lost, stolen, or not returned, you will be charged the full replacement cost of the camera to the card on file. Clipper is not responsible for cameras lost during return shipping if the provided prepaid label was not used. We strongly recommend using the provided label and retaining your drop-off receipt.
5. Footage & Editing
Clipper is not responsible for footage that is lost, corrupted, damaged, or otherwise unusable due to camera malfunction, improper use, physical damage, or memory card issues caused by the customer. In the event that footage cannot be recovered through no fault of the customer, Clipper will offer a partial refund or a rescheduled shoot at our discretion.
- Clipper editors will make creative decisions regarding sequencing, music, and pacing. Minor creative preferences are welcome, but Clipper does not guarantee specific edits.
- Reels are delivered digitally. Clipper is not responsible for delays caused by internet issues, incorrect email addresses, or third-party delivery platforms.
- Delivered reels are licensed for personal and social media use only. Commercial licensing requires a separate written agreement.
6. Booking, Cancellation & Refunds
All bookings are confirmed upon receipt of payment.
- Cancellations made 7+ days before your event: Full refund, minus a $25 processing fee.
- Cancellations made within 7 days of your event: No refund. The camera may still be shipped.
- Cancellations after the camera has shipped: No refund. You are still responsible for returning the camera.
- Clipper reserves the right to cancel a booking due to unforeseen circumstances and will issue a full refund in that case.
7. Shipping & Delivery
Clipper ships cameras via standard carriers (UPS, FedEx, or USPS). We are not responsible for delays caused by the carrier. If a camera is lost in transit during outbound shipping, Clipper will send a replacement or issue a full refund. If the camera is lost during return shipping and the provided prepaid label was not used, the customer is solely responsible.
8. Use of Footage for Marketing
By default, Clipper will not use your footage or delivered reels for marketing purposes without your explicit written consent. If you'd like to feature your reels on our website or social media — and we'd love to — we'll reach out separately to request permission.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Clipper shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of or related to your use of our services, including but not limited to loss of footage, missed moments, or equipment malfunction. Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid for the service.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Tennessee.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of our services after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms. We'll always post the updated effective date at the top of this page.
